I am so glad that I bought and read all 3 books about the Greyhawk family. I was a little apprehensive because of some of the negative reviews, but I am glad I followed my first instinct and purchased them anyway. And I must say, I enjoyed all of them and cannot wait until the next one.Now, to this book. I really enjoyed the story. I was so excited that it did not have the same guy meets girl,type of storyline. The author was right on point with going back to the past to tell what happened to the characters. It has always been known that Peyton believed he loved a woman in a previous life and it was good that we got a chance to discover his love and how it ended. It was also good to unfold even more supernatural tidbits that could explain the reasons behind some of the siblings supernatural abilities. Now, I am interested in the stories behind some of the new characters introduced in this book, plus I am interested to learn how the other Greyhawks fine their "One". Overall a great series with some unexpected twists and turns.

I love science fiction books and I love romance book with a paranormal bent. But, this one was just bad. The paranormal and syfy aspects just did not fit with the story. They were too jarring and led the story to far off path from the structure of the other books in the series. I am so disappointed because I was looking forward to Peyton's story. I've hardly ever, if ever, written a negative review, but I felt compelled to write this one. Don't waste your money. $9.99 is way too much to pay for this one.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading yet another Marilyn Lee book. Could not put it down - can't wait to read more from her.
I think this book needs to be read, because it has info about the Stoners from Night of Sin. I really enjoyed this book. And I hope there is a story for Bancroft.
I should have read the reviews to this story prior to reading it, because this is not the Peyton that I've come to love. The heroine is a nasty slut! Who has sex with one man, takes a bath, then has sex with another man thirty minutes later? A PROSTITUTE!!!! Avantae did not have the characteristics I admire in a heroine, her type of woman is the he man stealing slut that a true heroine would have a come to Jesus talk with.
This story went over the edge to the point that it had nothing in common with the first two Grayhawk stories. I loved, loved, loved Peyton and Marilyn Lee just destroyed him. I will do myself a favor and forget this story was every written. Marilyn Lee deserved every bad review she received for this story.
The Others already said it so I will say this for 9.95 Mrs. Lee can do better!!!! The author spent the whole time having the Alpha male whining about how terriable he felt! Then ate away another 30 pages about how wonderful Layton was. What the hell? We covered all of this in the first two books. I am gonna need Mrs. Lee to slow down take her time and give us the Grayhawk story we all deserve. The next GreyHawk book should be given for free to the people who paid 9.95 for this rushed, hot mess. NOTE TO AUTHOR Mrs. Lee I am a Loyal Fan and LOVE your Native American males no matter Vampire or just human. Therfore, do not insult your readers by changing things up to the point that you seriouly destroy a character you have worked so hard to build! Your fans and characters deserve better!
If you have not read the first book of the series; stop and buy it NOW! Great series so far. Each book just gets better and better. The sample was not that good. I read the first two books and wanted to continue the series, so I finally purchased this one. Great writing. Kept me wanting more. I hope the next book comes out soon. Thank you Mrs. Lee!
I loved the first two books about the Grayhawk family; Layton and Randall's stories were charming and at points somewhat believable, but Peyton's story (which combined multiple genres and got away from the charm of the first two stories) just lost me.
In Nights of Desire, Peyton was witty and charming. What happened to him in this book? He comes off as horny and desperate, seeking affirmation for his wrong doings. And his chosen love, Avantae comes off as equally desperate and very unsupportive woman to his traditions. She also sought to "justify her wrongness" as well. I expected more.
****Spoiler Alert**** The story defiantly could have done without the paranormal story lines. Vampires and super-natural aliens in Philly...well, it was too much. Reading about the love that a man has for a woman and the struggle that that can cause within his family should have been enough.
Another bone of contention with the story was use of the term "brave" in context with the character. Both times Avantae uses the term with Peyton ("I grant you the right, my handsome brave one"... and "...as you'll always be...my handsome brave Peyton") left me feeling uncomfortable since Peyton is Cherokee. This type of reference did not happen in the first two stories.
However, I do like the Grayhawk men in general and will most likely give the series another try before I give it up. It is my hope that the author returns to writing a story about love and devotion within the family and within the relationship with the "sheenea".
